Privacy policy
The short version
- We collect what you send us through our forms and chat, plus basic analytics about how the site is used.
- We use it to reply to you, run the audit you asked for, review your application and improve the site.
- We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time: [email protected].
Who we are
Goofre is a Canadian company ("Goofre", "we", "us"). We make Magento stores ready for AI shopping agents and train developers as Agentic Commerce Orchestrators™. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy and handle it in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
This policy covers the goofre.com website. If you become a client, the information you give us to deliver the service, including access to your store, is handled under your engagement agreement.
What we collect and why
| Where | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Readiness report or scan request | Store URL and your email address. | To run the audit, email you the report and follow up about it. |
| 5-product challenge | Your name, email address, store URL, the links to the products you choose, and anything you write in the optional note. | To scan those products, reply to you, and deliver the challenge if you go ahead. |
| ACO™ application | Name, email, whether you apply as an individual or agency, LinkedIn profile or agency website, main platform, number of stores you maintain, and anything you write about your work. | To review your application, reply to you and, if accepted, set up your access and cohort. |
| Live chat | Your messages and any name or email you give. The chat provider also records technical details such as IP address, approximate location, browser and the pages you view while chatting. | To answer your questions. |
| Site analytics | Pages viewed, how you arrived, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected by Google Analytics using cookies, subject to your cookie choice. | To understand which pages are useful and improve the site. |
| Visit notifications | The page you are on, the text of buttons or links you click, whether you submit a form, how far you scroll, approximate city, region and country, device type (mobile or desktop), the referring site or campaign tag, and a random code for your browser tab. It does not include your IP address, name or email. | To let us see in real time when someone visits or needs a reply, so we can respond quickly. |
| Hosting | IP address and standard request details, processed by our hosting provider. | To serve the site and protect it from abuse. |
We only collect what we need for these purposes. Please don't send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information through our forms or chat.
The store audit
When you send a store URL, our engine reads that store's publicly available pages and files, the way an AI shopping agent would. It does not log in or access anything that isn't public. The graded report is kept with your request.
Consent
By sending a form or starting a chat, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. Analytics, chat and visit notifications are optional and follow your cookie choice, described under Cookies and similar technologies. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop using your information except where we must keep it by law.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information and don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, under their own privacy and security terms:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website and processes form submissions and visit notifications. |
| Zoho Mail | Delivers form submissions to our inbox and hosts our email, in its Canadian data centre. |
| Supabase | Keeps a backup copy of a form submission if email delivery fails. |
| Google Analytics for site analytics; Google Fonts for the site's typefaces, which receives your IP address when fonts load. | |
| Tawk.to | Provides the live chat. |
| ntfy | Relays visit notifications to our phones. |
If you become a client, we share the store details needed to deliver the work with our engineering partner, Logic Rays, under the engagement agreement. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
Where your information is processed
Some of our providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Google Analytics sets cookies (such as
_ga) to count visits and sessions. - Tawk.to sets cookies to keep a chat connected across pages.
- Our own site keeps a random session code and a counter in your browser's session storage for visit notifications, cleared when you close the tab, and your cookie choice in local storage.
Your choice
If you visit from Europe, including the UK, we ask first. Analytics, chat and visit notifications stay off until you click Allow, and nothing optional runs if you click Decline.
Everywhere else, they are on by default under this notice, and you can turn them off at any time.
Either way, you can change your mind with Cookie settings, also linked in the footer of every page. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on. The forms and the rest of the site work without any of them.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions and chat transcripts: 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted. Sooner if you ask.
- Analytics: for the retention period set in Google Analytics, at most 14 months.
- Visit notifications: not stored by us; the relay keeps them only briefly.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we have used it;
- correct anything that is inaccurate;
- delete your information; or
- stop using it for a particular purpose.
Email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, including data portability and the right to object, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
How we protect it
The site uses HTTPS throughout. Access to submissions is limited to the people who need it to reply to you, and our providers apply their own security safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we will tell you and the relevant authorities about a breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, as the law requires.
Children
goofre.com is for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we will tell you by email before it applies.
