Is your Magento store ready for Google AI Mode checkout?
Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) lets AI Mode and Gemini hand a shopper's cart to your store and check out. Shopify stores get it from the platform. Magento stores have to set it up. Enter your store's address to see your readiness score, the gaps that matter most, and who fixes each one.
Free. Takes about a minute. We never email you because you ran a check.

What the check looks at
Five questions an AI shopping agent asks your store.
The same checks we run for our clients, on the same scanner. Every gap names its fix and who owns it: you, your developer, or us.
1. Access
Can AI search and shopping crawlers (Googlebot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot) reach your store, or does robots.txt turn them away?
2. Comprehension
Are your products described in structured data an agent can read: price, availability, identifiers, return policy and shipping on the offer?
3. Identity and trust
Does your store publish a valid UCP profile at /.well-known/ucp, with a version, declared capabilities and signing keys?
4. Transactability
Can an agent actually buy: are checkout and a payment handler declared, and does the endpoint answer the way the protocol expects?
5. Reliability
Does it answer quickly and consistently, so an agent mid-checkout does not give up?
Plus, shown but not scored: Google Universal Cart, the new hand-off that sends a basket from AI Mode or Gemini to your own site (dev.ucp.shopping.cart, UCP 2026-04-08 or later). See Google's cart guide.
Questions
Magento, UCP and Google AI Mode
What is Google UCP?
The Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) is an open standard, co-developed by Google and Shopify, that lets AI agents such as Google AI Mode and Gemini read a store's capabilities, hand a shopper's cart to the store, and complete checkout. A store says what it supports in a profile published at /.well-known/ucp.
Is UCP checkout live on Google?
Yes, for participating merchants. Google's Merchant Center help says UCP-powered checkout in AI Mode and Gemini is available for eligible products in the United States, Canada and Australia. The merchant stays the seller of record.
Does Magento support UCP out of the box?
No. Shopify stores get UCP from the platform. Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce stores need a module or custom work to publish the UCP profile and the cart and checkout endpoints, plus clean product data and Merchant Center setup.
What does this free check look at?
Five areas: whether AI crawlers can reach the store, whether products are described in structured data agents can read, whether the store identifies itself in a UCP profile, whether an agent can transact (checkout and payment declared and answering), and reliability. It also shows, without scoring it, whether the store declares Google's Universal Cart capability.
What is Google Universal Cart?
Universal Cart lets a shopper build a basket in AI Mode or Gemini and send it to the merchant's own site to finish buying. A store supports it by declaring dev.ucp.shopping.cart in its UCP profile on UCP version 2026-04-08 or later and answering POST /carts.
Is the check really free? What do you keep?
Yes, with no sign-up. We keep the store address and its result so the report link works and so we can follow how ready Magento stores are. We never email you because you ran a check.
